When Receiving Feels Hard ❤️

Breathe: Just You, the Breath, and the Breakthrough

July 26, 2026

Hello Friends,

I hope this note finds you taking at least one full breath for yourself today.

Before we begin, I want to say thank you.

Whether you’ve been here since the very first episode or you’ve only recently found this little corner of the world, I’m so grateful you’re here. Every listen, every kind message, every review, and every shared episode remind me that this community is growing one breath at a time. It’s an honor to walk alongside you.

This week, I want to explore something that often goes unnoticed on our healing journeys.

We spend so much time learning how to let go.

We learn to release old stories, old wounds, old patterns, and old expectations.

But eventually, healing asks something different of us.

It asks…

Can you receive?

Can you receive rest without guilt?

Can you receive love without questioning it?

Can you receive joy without waiting for something to go wrong?

Can you receive support without feeling like you have to earn it first?

For many of us, that’s the harder practice.

Not because we don’t want those things.

But because somewhere along the way, our nervous systems learned that staying guarded felt safer than staying open.

And that’s exactly what we’re exploring together this week.

A Moment to Pause:

Before you continue reading, let’s take one gentle pause together.

Place one hand over your heart and the other over your belly if that feels comfortable.

Take a slow breath in through your nose.

As you inhale, silently say to yourself,

“I receive.”

As you exhale, whisper,

“I soften.”

Again…

Inhale.

“I receive.”

Exhale.

“I soften.”

One last breath.

Notice that you didn’t have to chase this breath.

You didn’t have to deserve it.

It simply arrived.

May that be your reminder today.

This Tuesday: The Breath of Receiving.

Episode 20 of Breathe: Just You, the Breath, and the Breakthrough, introduces us to a part of ourselves that is ready to learn to receive.

What if the greatest challenge in healing isn’t learning how to let go…

What if it’s learning how to let life in?

In this week’s episode, we’re exploring why receiving can feel so uncomfortable for the nervous system, how our past experiences shape our ability to accept support, joy, rest, and love, and why every inhale is already a practice in receiving.

Together, we’ll move through a gentle somatic breathing practice called The Receiving Breath, inviting the body to experience openness not as danger, but as possibility.

If you’ve ever found yourself minimizing compliments, refusing help, or feeling guilty when life becomes a little easier, I think this conversation will meet you exactly where you are.

A Reflection for this Week:

As you move through the days ahead, notice the moments when something good begins to arrive.

A compliment.

A helping hand.

A quiet afternoon.

An unexpected kindness.

Before you brush it aside or tell yourself you haven’t done enough to deserve it…

Pause.

Take one slow breath.

And ask yourself,

“What would it feel like to simply receive this?”

You don’t have to answer right away.

Just let the question stay with you.

Sometimes healing isn’t only found in what we’re willing to release.

Sometimes it’s found in what we’re finally willing to welcome.

I hope this week offers you moments of unexpected ease, quiet joy, and the courage to receive them without apology.

Until our next breath together...

In Gratitude,
Ferryn Wynter

I’m Ferryn Wynter, a yoga and breathwork guide dedicated to helping you find your resonance in a world that never stops moving. I spent years thinking that "strength" meant being unshakable and building walls to stay safe. What I found instead was that true resilience doesn’t come from being rigid - it comes from being solid enough to finally stop holding your breath. Finding that calm within the chaos is exactly what I’m here to help you do. Whether we are meeting on the mat or through the deep conversations of my podcast, my goal is simple: to create a sanctuary where you can move with the storm, rather than against it. Breathe: Just You, the Breath, and the Breakthrough August 30, 2026 Hello Friends 👋🏼, How much of your day do you spend inside—moving from home to car to screens—while your nervous system quietly longs for the steady, unhurried rhythms of the earth? We spend so much of our energy feeling rushed and overstimulated, wondering why we feel so disconnected. We've become so accustomed to the artificial noise and the endless pace of modern life that stepping outside can almost feel like leaving our...

Breathe: Just You, the Breath, and the Breakthrough August 23, 2026 Hello Friends 👋🏼, How often do you catch yourself apologizing for taking up space? We spend so much of our lives learning how to adapt, how to adjust, and how to shrink ourselves down into something easier for the world to accept. We convince ourselves that who we are is somehow too much - too emotional, too sensitive, too passionate, too complex. And slowly, without even realizing it, we start holding our breath. We hold...

Breathe: Just You, the Breath, and the Breakthrough August 16, 2026 Hello Friends, Sunday is our collective exhale. It’s the sanctuary we carve out to quiet the noise, drop the armor, and reconnect with our own center before a brand-new week begins. Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how fragile boundaries can feel when we're in the thick of daily life. We set them with the best intentions, but what happens when they’re tested? When someone pushes back, or subtly tests our limits, and that old,...
