Breathe: Just You, the Breath, and the Breakthrough

Hello Friends,

We often think of our inner child as a distant memory—a scrapbook of moments tucked away in the past. But if we’re honest, we know that’s not quite true.

Our inner child isn’t just a memory; it is an experience we carry in the present.

It’s that subtle tightness in your chest when you feel misunderstood. It’s the instinct to apologize before you’ve even done anything wrong. It’s the exhaustion that comes from being the "strong one" for everyone else. These aren’t just personality traits; they are the patterns our bodies developed long ago to keep us safe, to keep us connected, and to help us belong.

The challenge isn’t that we have these patterns. It’s that we often try to "fix" or suppress them, forgetting that the younger parts of us were simply doing the best they could to protect us.

A Moment to Pause:

Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Instead of trying to change anything, simply notice: I am here. Right now. As you breathe, imagine offering the same kindness you would show a child to the sensations in your own body. You don't have to go back in time; you only have to be present for what you are feeling in this moment.

This Tuesday: The Breath We Needed Back Then.

You don’t have to become someone new to come home to yourself. You only have to be willing to sit beside yourself—with the same tenderness you would offer someone you love.

If the idea of meeting your "inner child" feels intimidating or heavy, please know this: there is no "right or wrong" way to do this. You don’t need to force a story or relive a memory. This is simply an invitation to listen. Some of the deepest healing doesn’t come from a dramatic breakthrough; it comes from the quiet moment you decide to stop abandoning yourself.
